Bridge Resources

New To Bridge?

Welcome! You are just about to embark on a journey through the most exciting card game ever invented by the wit of man! Firstly, I highly recommend the following Free Bridge Software to help you to get started. It assumes absolutely zero knowledge. If you don't like the software or if you prefer just reading web pages, check out HERE or HERE.

Online Bridge

Playing online bridge is a great way to improve your game, since it's not always possible to find four people and a common place to meet up. The only online bridge site I highly recommend is Bridge Base Online. It's a site that offers free online bridge with many forms of the game including duplicate IMPs. They even allow you to stage your own team tournaments. Note that their software works only in Windows.

Remember, the only way to improve your bridge is to play it!

Conventions

A good convention for beginners to pick up is Standard American Yellow Card (SAYC). It is natural, intuitive, and widely used around the world. It is also used by more advanced players.

Books

A great book for beginners is Bridge for Dummies by Eddie Kantar. Many other Bridge books exists for all player levels. Hop down to your nearest bookstore to check out the titles!
